At Oneida High School's Awards Convocation

There are lots of proud parents here at OHS's 28th annual event. I'm here to present the Rolland Woodcock Memorial Scholarship. I remember being here for Joanna and George, in their senior years. One thing that's the same, whether you have a kid in the school or not, is that you'd better be prepared to applaud. Several pieces of advice... First, begin training days or even weeks in advance. Build up those special muscles that are only used for clapping. Toughen up those hands or you're likely to end up with bruised, tender mitts for days. Also, pace yourself. Remember this is a marathon, not a sprint. Don't use up all your clapping on the first wave of kids. Those later in the program are every bit as deserving. Save some skin for them. We'll get the full list on line and in print as soon as we can. We'll aso get the award fromm VVS and as many other school as we can.
